So the trial runs straight into the plan without a gap if you keep it. Stripe holds the card; we never see it. Cancel before the first charge in the billing portal and nothing is charged.
Drafting stops at the end of the period you've paid for (or at the end of the trial). Your drafts, research and settings stay in your account, and you can restart any time.
